SAMBA, May 31: At least eight persons were injured, three of them seriously when a tractor and Bolero (Jeep) met head-on-collision at Bein bridge near Ghaghwal on Jammu-Pathankote National Highway this afternoon.
The mishap took place at around 5.10 pm near Ghagwal. Some family members from UP were on way to Jammu in Bolero bearing registration No. UP83L/5167. Near Bein bridge in Ghagwal area, the vehicle collided with a new tractor No. PB42/1596.
The police party from Ghagwal rushed to the spot. The injured were rushed to Samba hospital. Some of them were provided treatment at local health Centre. The injured hospitalized at Samba were identified as Madan Lal Gupta of UP and his young daughter, Ritu Gupta, tractor driver – Rajinder Singh, his associates Avtar Singh and Mawa Singh from Punjab.
Seriously injured Madan Lal, Ritu and Rajinder Singh have been referred to GMC Hospital, Jammu. The police registered a case and started investigation.
