8 injured as Sumo skids on Mughal Road

POONCH, Dec 10: Eight  persons were injured when a Tata Sumo vehicle skidded off the road and fell into a gorge near Bafliaz this afternoon.
A police spokesman said that mishap took place when the ill-fated vehicle No. JK-11A/ 2583 was on way to Srinagar from Rajouri. Near Bafliaz on Mughal Road, the vehicle skidded off the road and turned turtle in a gorge, causing injuries to eight passengers on board.
The police party from nearby Police Post and locals of the area rushed to the site and rescued the injured. All the accident victims were   shifted to Sub District Hospital, Surankote. They were identified as Muktiar Ahmed, son of Nazir Ahmed from Kalakote; Abdul Rashid, son of Mohd Abdullah; Gulab Jan, daughter of Mohd Abdullah; Mohd Shafi, son of Mohd Abdullah; Shafiq Ahmed, son of Mohd Shafi; Zubeda, wife of Abdul Rashid-all residents of Charar Sharief (Budgam); Khadam Hussain, son of Mohd Sadiq and Manza Kouser, wife of Mohd Riaz, residents of Bakori  area of  Rajouri.
The police  has taken cognizance of the matter. Further investigation was in progress.
