JAMMU, Oct 20: District Administration Jammu today foiled a bid to encroach upon eight kanals of land near 4th bridge on River Tawi.
According to the official sources, Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Simrandeep Singh few days back received an information that some people enjoying the political patronage were trying to encroach upon eight kanals of land near 4th bridge on River Tawi.
Taking serious note of this, DC Jammu deputed a team revenue officers headed by Tehsildar to retrieve the land from the encroachers at village Nowabad–the area adjacent to River Tawi.
The team comprising of SDPO Jammu West, Naib Tehsildar Jammu and SI Police Post Canal Road, SI Sandeep Charak today foiled the bid of the encroachers and saved the land from the encroachers.
The Deputy Commissioner has already issued instructions to the revenue officials to maintain hawk’s eye on the activities of encroachers.
