UDHAMPUR, May 25: Udhampur Police today seized 8 kg charas and arrested two narcotics smugglers, who were transporting the consignment from Kashmir to Jammu.
The duo was arrested during checking of vehicles on the National Highway, near Birma bridge. A police party from Police Station Udhampur, headed by SHO Udhampur, Inspector O P Chib, intercepted one car bearing registration number JK02BH-9900 and during search of the vehicle, eight kilogram charas was recovered.
Police also arrested driver and his accomplice, who were identified as Jabad Ahmed of Anantnag Kashmir and Mohd Aslam of Lansi Udhampur.
In this connection, a case has been registered under Section 8/20 NDPS Act at Police Station, Udhampur.
