POONCH, Feb 22: The police today seized eight (8) tippers involved in illegal mining in a Nallah in Poonch area.
Official sources said that on the directions of District Magistrate Poonch, Rahul Yadav and SSP Poonch, Ramesh Angral, a joint team of Police and Revenue officials including DySP Headquarter Poonch, Tehsildar Poonch, SHO and Naib Tehsildar Chandak conducted simultaneous raids in the Poonch river at Chandak, Kalie, Khaneter and Sehndara villages and seized seven tippers and one tractor trolly.
In this connection an FIR No. 32/2020 was registered at Police Station,Poonch u/s 188 IPC. The Administration has warned the violators not to indulge in such activities as such strict action will be taken against them under law. It may be recalled that mining activity has been stopped on the directions of PCB, J&K.
