JAMMU, Feb 20: Police claimed today that they have seized 8 vehicles involved in illegal mining in Jammu District.
A police spokesperson said that three tractor trolleys were seized by Police Station Kahnachak, two by Police Station Gharota, one tipper by Police Post Chinnore, one tractor trolley by Police Post Pouni Chak, and one tractor trolley by Border Police Post Sandwan.
The recoveries were made by SHO Kahnachak, Inspector Rahul Mahajan; SHO Gharota, Inspector Joginder Singh Chib; incharge police post Chinnore, PSI Rajesh Kumar; incharge police post Pounichak, SI Ram Rattan, and in-charge BPP Sandwan, PSI Saddam Hussain.
“The vehicles were mining in violation of the High Court order,” said the police spokesperson.
