84 bovine animals rescued, 7 accused arrested

UDHAMPUR, May 14: In a big success of Udhampur police, 84 bovine animals were rescued and 7 accused were arrested in two different cases here today.
Giving details Rajiv Pandey, SSP Udhampur said Police patrolling parties of PS Udhampur led by Vijay Singh Choudhary, SHO PS Udhampur under the supervision of Rajinder Singh Katoch Additional SP Udhampur and Dr Rohit Chadgal, DySP Headquarter Udhampur rescued 84 bovine animals and arrested 7 accused in two different cases.
He said while patrolling on National Highway, police patrolling parties intercepted 4 vehicles including three trucks and one Tata Mobile from different locations on National Highway of District Udhampur, adding that Tata mobile bearing registration no. JK20A 3489 was intercepted near Gole Mela area, while one Truck from Sangoor Chowk (no JK03G 5266) and two Trucks from Jakhani Chowk bearing registration no. (JK03J 2498, JK02AS 8717).
“During checking, 44 bovine animals were found illegally and cruelly loaded in all these vehicles. All the bovine animals were rescued and the accused persons namely Bhag Ali son of Abdul Rashid of Nagrota, Ashfaq Ahmed son of Bashir Ali of Kokernag, Anantnag, Imtiaz Ahmed son of Ghulam Hussain of Quazikund, Anatnag.
Muddesar Ahmed Manzoor Ahmed of Quazikund, Anantnag, Sameer Ahmed son of Mushtaq Ahmed of Chambal Vaas, Banihal were arrested on spot and all the vehicles were also seized,” SSP Pandey said.
In this connection, cases stood registered at PS Udhampur under relevant sections of law and further investigation was going on.
In another case, Police party of PS Chenani led by Pushpinder Singh SHO PS Chenani under the supervision of Rajinder Singh Katoch Additional SP Udhampur and Ahmed Shaafi SDPO Chenani laid another ‘naka’ at motorshed, Chenani for checking of vehicles.
During ‘naka’ checking police party of PS Chenani intercepted two trucks bearing registration no. JK03F 2167 and JK02AJ 4071.
During checking, 40 more bovine animals were found illegally loaded in both these vehicles.
All the bovine animals were rescued and the accused persons namely Mohd. Irshad son of Mohd. Ashraf of Changoo, Anantnag Mohd Rafiq son of Ghulam Rasool of Kanskassan, Reasi were also arrested on spot and both the vehicles were also seized.
In this connection, cases stood registered at PS Chenani and further investigation was going on.
