UDHAMPUR, Oct 21: The police recovered 87 pouches of illicit liquor at Udhampur and Chenani today.
Official sources said that based on a reliable information, Police party of Police Station, Udhampur comprising of ASI Mohd Iqbal along with the flying squad team of PS Udhampur led by Inspector Sanjeev Chib, SHO PS Udhampur arrested one suspected person at Gole Mela, Udhampur. During his search 37 pouches of illicit liquor were recovered from the said person namely Joginder Singh, son of Ravinder Singh of Sunderbani. He was arrested on the spot.
In this connection, a case FIR No. 528/2018 U/S 48(a) Excise Act has been registered at Police Station Udhampur.
In another case, Chenani Police Party led by SI Sanjeet Sharma, SHO arrested one person near Kali Mata Mandir, Chennani and during his search recovered 50 pouches of liquor from him. Identified as Raju, son of Gani from Batna, in Tehsil Chenani was arrested on the spot. The liquor was also seized.
In this connection, a case FIR No. 90/2018 has been registered against him.
