9 bovines rescued, driver arrested

RAMBAN, Aug 23: Banihal police arrested a driver and rescued 9 bovine animals, which he was carrying towards Valley in an auto.
As per police sources, on specific inputs, police team from Banihal police station laid a naka at Gund and intercepted Srinagar bound auto bearing registration number JK19-1627.
During checking, police rescued 9 bovine animals loaded in the vehicle in a cruel manner and arrested the driver on the spot.
The accused has been identified as Sajjad Ahmed, son of Gulam Moidin of Chareel.
A case under FIR Number 142/15 under Section 188 RPC and 3 PCA Act has been registered at Banihal police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Banihal police station Inspector Tariq Naik made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Banihal Mohammad Rafiq and SSP Ramban Randeep Kumar.
