POONCH, Dec 10: Nine cattle were charred to death as a cattle-shed caught fire under mysterious circumstances in Harni area of Mendhar Sub Division last night.
Official sources said that cattle shed of one Mohammed Safeer Khan, son of Wali Dad Khan, resident of Harni caught fire last mid night under mysterious circumstances. The family members woke up after hearing sounds of cattle in distress.
When they arrived there on the spot the entire shed had been engulfed in huge fire. All the cattle including two buffaloes, three calves, four goats and sheep were charred to death in mishap.
Today morning the police party from Mendhar along with Naib Tehsildar and Veterinary officer paid visit to the site. The police has taken cognizance of the matter on the complaint of the owner.
