JAMMU/SRINAGAR/ LEH, Dec 7: Nine Corona casualties and 280 positive cases were today reported in J&K while 386 persons recovered from the virus. One person died and three others tested positive in Ladakh.
National Conference provincial president Devender Singh Rana, former MLA, today tested positive for COVID-19. In a tweet, Rana said he has tested positive and advised his contacts to isolate themselves and opt for testing.
Twenty one positive cases were today reported from Patta Bohri, 12 Kot Bhalwal, six each Pallanwalla and RS Pura, five each Domana and Jewel Chowk, four Jagti, three each Akhnoor, Rajinder Park and Marh, two Bishnah and one each at Chowki Chowra and Sohanjana in Jammu district,
Five Corona fatalities were reported in Jammu and four in Kashmir.
Among five deaths in Jammu, two were reported from Jammu district and one each from Udhampur, Kishtwar and Reasi districts.
A 35-year-old man from village Badder in Reasi district died of Coronavirus at home.
A 70-year old woman and 50-year-old man from Kishtwar died of co-morbidities and virus in the Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu.
A 72-year-old man from Bantalab died in the Fortis Hospital Amritsar where he was under treatment for COVID-19.
Those who died in Kashmir today include 41-year-old man from Sangrama area of Sopore in Baramulla district, 85-year-old man from Mamar Kangan in Ganderbal, 65-year-old man from Qazigund in Kulgam and 70-year-old man from Khanpora in Baramulla district.
Jammu region today reported 166 Corona positive cases including the highest 75 in Jammu district, 29 Udhampur and 12 each in Doda and Kishtwar districts while 165 others recovered from the virus, the highest being 46 in Jammu and 43 in Udhampur district.
Jammu region now has 46203 Corona cases. Of them, 2490 are active positives and 43088 have recovered from the virus. There have been 625 Corona casualties in the region.
The Union Territory of Ladakh today reported one Corona death and three new cases.
A 47-year-old man from Phokar died of pathogen in Kargil district taking Ladakh’s Corona toll to 121 including 78 in Leh and three in Kargil district.
All three positive cases in Ladakh were today reported from Leh district.
With four deaths in Kashmir, the total fatality count in the Valley has reached 1130.
Srinagar district with 427 deaths topped the list followed by Baramulla 165, Budgam 103, Pulwama 86, Kupwara 85, Anantnag 80, Bandipora 55, Kulgam 52, Ganderbal 40 and Shopian 37.
In Kashmir, 114 people tested positive today taking the J&K positive cases tally to 11,35,68.
Srinagar reported 63, Baramulla 6, Budgam 15, Kupwara 1, Pulwama 16, Anantnag 3, Ganderbal 5, Kulgam 2 and Shopian 3 positive cases.
Srinagar has 23751 positive cases now with 1182 active, 22142 recovered, 427 deaths; Baramulla has 7605 positive cases with 184 active, 7256 recovered, 165deaths; Pulwama reported 5207 positive cases with 168 active cases, 4953 recovered, 86 deaths; Kulgam has 2614 positive cases with 63 active, 2499 recoveries, 52 deaths; Shopian has 2391 positive cases with 80 active, 2274 recovered and 37 deaths; Anantnag district has 4620 positive cases with 115 active, 4425 recovered, 80 deaths; Budgam has 7129 positive cases with 281 active and 6745 recovered, 103 deaths; Kupwara has 5270 positive cases with 214 active, 4971 recovered, 85 deaths; Bandipora has 4492 positive cases with 122 active, 4315 recovered, 55 deaths and Ganderbal has 4286 positive cases with 156 active cases, 4090 recoveries and 40 deaths.
