Srinagar, July 17: Kashmir today reported nine more deaths of COVID-19 patients, taking the fatality tally in Jammu and Kashmir to 231 while 464 more positive cases of Novel Coronavirus were reported from the Valley taking the number of such cases across J&K to 12757.
Among the deaths, Srinagar reported four including a 58-year-old from Hyderpora, Pulwama two, one of them a 65-year-old man from Parigam area, besides one each from Shopian, Bandipora and Budgam.
A 65-year-old resident from Pulwama and a 55-year-old man from Budgam died at the tertiary care hospital since overnight.
The 65-year old man from Parigam area of South Kashmir district of Pulwama was admitted on July 14 to SKIMS and passed away late last night due to cardiopulmonary arrest. He was suffering from bilateral pneumonia among other ailments. He tested positive for the virus and was shifted to isolation facility of the hospital where he died.
A 55 year old man from Soibugh in district Budgam died at the SKIMS hospital and he tested positive for COVID-19 after his death.
A 58-year-old man from Alnoor colony Hyderpora, who was admitted on July 8 with bilateral pneumonia and severe ARDS, died at SKIMS Bemina here. He was also a case of Hypothyroidism. He was first kept in HDU and later shifted to ICU on July 9. He was intubated and develop sudden cardiac pulmonary arrest was declared dead today.
With these deaths, 213 COVID-19 positive people have died in Kashmir and 18 in Jammu so far.
Srinagar district with 59 deaths has the highest fatalities followed by Baramulla 48, Kulgam 23, Shopian 18, Anantnag 17, Budgam 17, Kupwara 13, Pulwama 10, Ganderbal 4 and Bandipora 3.
Kashmir today reported 464 positive cases of Novel Coronavirus taking the number of such cases across J&K to 12757.
Srinagar reported 152, Baramulla 62, Kulgam 10, Shopian 82, Anantnag 51, Kupwara 12, Pulwama 19, Budgam 46, Bandipora 1 and Ganderbal 29 positive cases.
They include eight pregnant women, seven soldiers from BB Cantt Srinagar besides eight minors including 55-days old chid.
An official said that 958 samples were processed at Chest Diseases hospital lab and 97 tested positive for the virus including 7 Army personnel from Badami Bagh Cantonment.
An official said that 33 persons tested positive at SKIMS Medical College Laboratory Bemina and all are from Srinagar.
Meanwhile, 49 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals in Kashmir.
