Srinagar, Sept 20: Kashmir today reported nine deaths due to COVID-19 with 640 fresh cases of infection taking the overall tally in Jammu and Kashmir to 63990.
Four of the deaths were reported at SKIMS Soura while others at SMHS Srinagar and Chest Diseases hospital Srinagar here.
A 60-year-old woman from Verinag in district Anantnag died four days after she was admitted to the hospital.
A 56-year-old man from New Qazi Bagh in district Anantnag died five days after he was admitted to the hospital.
Two other persons who died at SKIMS include a 50-year-old man from Sangam in district Anantnag and a 68-year-old man from Firdous Colony Buchhpora Srinagar.
The other deaths include a 60-year-old woman from Trakanjan Boniyar in Baramulla district who died at SMHS hospital here soon after they were admitted.
A 75-year-old woman from Habba Kadal died at the SMHS hospital, 12 days after she was admitted and diagnosed with bilateral Community Acquired Pneumonia.
Two more persons, a woman from Parnewa in district Budgam, admitted with bilateral CAP on September 16 and a 66-year-old man from Narbal Magam in district Budgam, admitted with bilateral CAP on September 16, also died at SMHS hospital.
An 80-year-old man from Hazratbal Srinagar died at CD hospital, four days after he was admitted there.
Kashmir reported 640 fresh cases of coronavirus today.
Srinagar reported 228, Budgam 78, Baramulla 86, Pulwama 50, Anantnag 49, Bandipora 35, Kupwara 29, Ganderbal 57, Kulgam 19 and Shopian 9 cases today.
An official said that Srinagar has 13057 positive cases with 2067 active positive, 10726 recovered and 264 deaths; Baramulla has 3844 positive cases with 1121 active, 2607 recovered and 116 deaths; Pulwama reported 3534 positive cases with 530 active positive cases, 2941 recovered and 63 deaths; Kulgam has 2184 positive cases with 169 active, 1972 recoveries and 43 deaths; Shopian has 1930 positive cases with 169 active, 1731 recovered and 30 deaths; Anantnag district has 3252 positive cases with 839 active, 2357 recovered and 56 deaths; Budgam has 4364 positive cases with 1702 active and 2586 recovered and 76 deaths; Kupwara has 3207 positive cases with 924 active, 2222 recovered and 61 deaths; Bandipora has 3155 positive cases with 1048 active, 2073 recovered and 34 deaths and Ganderbal has 2560 positive cases with 649 active cases, 1885 recoveries and 26 deaths.
Moreover 380 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals in Kashmir.
