9 held with Rs 93,600 stake money

JAMMU, July 23: Narwal and Chinore police arrested nine gamblers along with Rs 93600 stake money and playing cards.
As per police sources, police team from Narwal police post conducted a raid in Yard Number 5, Transport Nagar and nabbed five gamblers along with Rs 91,900 stake money and playing cards.
The accused have been identified as Jaswant Singh, Sukhvinder Singh, Paramjeet Singh, Tajinder Singh and Sukhdev Singh.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Trikuta Nagar police station and investigation started.
Police team led by Incharge Narwal police post PSI Vishal Kumar and SHO Trikuta Nagar police station Mansa Baig made the arrests under the supervision of SDPO East Mohammad Rafiq Manhas and Incharge SSP Jammu Rajive Pandey.
Meanwhile, Chinore police also nabbed four gamblers along with Rs 1700 stake money and playing cards and gambling equipment (tikri).
The gamblers have been identified as Charan Dass, son of Kaman Dass, Kaleshwar Kashyap, son of Nutan Kashyap, Denu Kewat, son of Dhoni Ram Kewat, trio residents of Chattisgarh, Shivpujan, son of Kapil Dev of Bihar, all presently residing in Bantalab.
A case under Section 13 Gambling Act has been registered against them at Domana police station and investigation started.
Police team led by Incharge Chinore police post SI Vikram Singh Manhas made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Domana police station Inspector Rajinder Sharma, SDPO Domana Surinder Sharma and Incharge SSP Jammu Rajive Pandey.
