RAJOURI, May 18: Nine passengers were injured when a car rolled down into a gorge on Rajouri-Budhal road in Kotranka area of district Rajouri today.
Official sources said that an Eco car carrying nine 9 passengers, fell into nearly 50-feet deep gorge in Kandi Gala area under Kotranka Police jurisdiction on Budhal road. The injured were rescued by the locals of the area and police and then shifted to Kotranka hospital for treatment. Out of the nine, 4 injured were referred to GMC Hospital Rajouri for better treatment.

Police said that mishap took place when Eco car bearing registration number JK11E-1150 was carrying passengers from Kotranka to Rajouri and the driver lost control over the vehicle at a sharp turn at Kandi Gala and the car fell into a gorge.
The injured were identified as Tahira Parveen, wife of Aashiq Hussain; Maryam Kousar, Halima Akhtar, Shamim Kousar, Shabnam Kousar, Mohd Sharif, Mohd Shafiq, son of Fazal Hussain, Mohd Areeb, son of Mohd Shafiq and Mohd Ashiq, son of Mohd Hanif. The police has taken cognizance.
