9 J&K Govt employees killed as taxi plunges into gorge

JAMMU :  At least nine employees of Jammu and Kashmir Sheep and Husbandry Department were killed when a taxi they were travelling in skidded off the road and plunged into a deep gorge in hilly Kishtwar district this morning.    “A vehicle ferrying the employees was on it way from Kishtwar to Marwah when it met with an accident at 1115 hrs at Sinton Top near Machrari Morh in Chatroo area,”a police spokesperson here said.
He said the vehicle fell into a deep gorge resulting into death of nine employees, including the driver and the senior officials.
Five of the deceased have been identified as Dr Aamir Kamal of Kishtwar, Dr Rafiq Ahmad Akhoon, DSHO, Sat Pal, Supervisor, Irshan Ahmad Wani, Staffer and Mansoor Ahmad, driver.    “The mishap took place in the far-flung area so it is not possible to contact the concerned officials for details,” he said, adding that more details into the incident are awaited.
