SAMBA, Feb 28: At least nine shops were broken and burgled at Vijaypur market under the nose of local police last night.
Reports said some thieves in a major over night operation using pressure jecks of the heavy vehicles, broken shutters of nine shops in the market near Sabzi Mandi, hardly 150 meters away from Police Station and decamped with cash worth Rs 25,000 last night and some goods. The shopkeepers came to know about the incident in the morning and lodged strong protest with the local police. The traders who fell victims to the burglars are- Gopal Dass, Ravinder Thapa, Sharma Motors, Sansar Motor Store, Sharma Maruti Centre, Raju Motor Store, Ajay Car Accessories, Lali Dass and Som Motors and Spare Parts.
