UDHAMPUR, Dec 17: Exposing the ‘efficiency’ of the School Education Department, the members from at least half a dozen Panchayat Halqas in Khoon, Amara, Sundla, Sail, Palnoo, Deot and Pathwar in a communication to the Chief Minister and the Dy Chief Minister have alleged that nine teachers including two lecturers were lifted by the concerned officers from Govt Higher Secondary School, Khoon (Majalta) in November 2013 and first week of December without providing any substitute, thereby playing with the career of over 600 students of the area.
Sarpanchs and Panchs of Khoon and adjoining Halqas in a resolution today strongly condemned the School Education authorities for being so callous and unconcerned about the studies of the students. They also resolved to expose the malpractice prevailing in the system and whole sale transfers of the teaching staff in sheer violation of norms/ rules.
They alleged that in Govt Higher Secondary School Khoon two lecturers, five Master and two teachers were lifted just within last one and half month and not even single replacement was provided to run the school. The exams of the students are drawing nearer and the concerned CEO and Director School Education seem to be playing with the career of the students.
Seeking intervention of DyCM Tara Chand and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, they resolved to put a lock on the school and launch agitation if the staff was not provided within a week. They also held CEO Udhampur and DSE Jammu responsible for the mess created and sought action in this regard.
