Kathua, Nov 18: At least nine vehicles were seized for mining illegally in Kathua District.
A police spokesperson said that on the intervening nights of November 17-18, 2023, a team headed by SI Som Raj, incharge Police Post Nagri, under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Kathua, Manjeet Singh and SHO Police Station Kathua, Inspector Ajay Singh Chib, seized nine vehicles, including seven dumpers and two excavators, during night patrolling/checking in the jurisdictional area of Sehar Khad Sherpur area.
Following seizure, the vehicles were accordingly handed over to the officials of the Geology and Mining Department for further legal proceedings, he said.
