JAMMU, Nov 27: Intensif-ying it’s drive against traffic violations with main focus to check the problem of overloading of passengers, Rajouri police today booked drivers of eleven vehicles for severe overloading and also seized nine vehicles and challaned 59 others.
In this drive which was started by District Police Rajouri to prevent road accidents, Budhal police team seized a Tata Magic vehicle No. JK11A 1842 driven by Nissar Ahmed, resident of Gabbar. A case in 279, 336 RPC has been registered for overloading of passengers.
Kandi police intercepted Minibus No. JK02B/ 3552 and Tempo JK0AF /9860 and registered cases in FIRs 120/2017 and 121/2017, respectively, for overloading of passengers.
Thanamandi police also registered two cases in FIR NOs 162/2017 and 163/2017 under relevant sections against Minibus No. JK02AH/ 3429 and Minibus No. JK02U /2586, respectively, for violation of norms and overloading of passengers.
Darhal police booked driver of Tata Magic No. JK11/2622 for heavy passengers overloading and registered a case in FIR 77/2017 under relevant sections in Darhal Police Station.
Nowshera police team registered FIRs 189/2017 and 190/2017 under relevant sections against Minibus JK11/ 1979 and canter JK11/ 9777 and booked their drivers for violation of norms and heavy overloading thereby putting lives at risk.
Similarly, driver of a bus JK02AK/ 1809, bus JK02G/ 6087 and mini-bus JK11/ 1476 have been booked for heavy overloading of passengers and putting human lives at risk.
Three FIRs of this have been registered in Police Station Kalakote and cases in FIR 86/2017, 87/2017 and 88/2017 under relevant sections of law have been registered in Kalakote Police Station.
Along with registration of FIRs, two vehicles have been seized at Thannamandi and seven at Darhal whereas, a total of 59 vehicles have been challaned.
Drive in these Police Stations were led by concerned SHOs and Police Post Incharges under the supervision of DySP, SDPOs and both Addl SP Rajouri Mohd Yousuf and Addl SP, Nowshera Master Popsy.
