JAMMU, Sept 10: National Lok Adalats for criminal cases were held across the State under the patronage of Justice N Paul Vasanthakumar, Chief Justice, High Court of J&K and Patron-in-Chief, J&K State Legal Services Authority and under the guidance of Justice Mohammad Yaqoob Mir, Judge, High Court of J&K and Executive Chairman, J&K State Legal Services Authority.
A total of 937 criminal compound matters were disposed off and an amount of Rs 3.65 lakh was settled amount.
UDHAMPUR: National Lok Adalat was held here today. Four benches were constituted which were chaired by RK Dubey, Chief Judicial Magistrate Udhampur, Rajni Sharma, Sub Judge, Renu Dogra, Sub Judge Ramnagar, Mohammad Arif tak, Naib Tehsildar Ramnagar, Samriti Sharma, Bar President Chenani, Touseef Ahmed Magray, Munsiff JMIC Majalta and Advocate Mohan Lal Gupta. A total of 145 cases were taken up, out of which 104 cases were settled and an amount of Rs 38350 was settled.
SAMBA: National Lok Adalat was held in the District Court Complex, here under the chairmanship of ML Manhas, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority. Two benches were constituted, which were chaired by ML Manhas, District Legal Services Authority, Vijay Kumar, Poonam Gupta, Retainer Lawyers, Swati Gupta, Additional Special Mobile Magistrate Samba, Bhushan Lal and Sunaina Gupta, Retainer Lawyers. 25 cases were taken up and 3 cases were disposed-off.
RAJOURI: National Lok Adalat was held in District Court Complex, here under the chairmanship of Inder Singh, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority. One bench was constituted, which was headed by Mehmood Choudhary, CJM Rajouri and assisted by Sarfraz Nawaz, District Judicial Mobile Magistrate (T). A total of 130 cases were taken up, out of which 110 cases were settled and an amount of Rs 35,000 was setted.
NOWSHERA: National Lok Adalat was held in the Court Complex of Sub Judge Nowshera under the chairmanship of Sandeep Kour, Chairman, Tehsil Legal Services Committee, Nowshera. In the Lok Adalat, two benches were constituted. The first bench comprised of Sandeep Kour, Chairman, Tehsil Legal Services Committee Nowshera, Advocate Supriya Sasan and SHO Nowshera, whereas the second bench comprised of SDM Nowshera, SDPO Nowshera and Sr PO Nowshera. In the Lok Adalat, a total of 30 cases were taken up, out of which 26 cases were disposed-off by way of amicable settlement.
KISHTWAR: National Lok Adalat was held at District Court Complex under the chairmanship of MS Parihar, Principal, District and Session Judge Kishtwar. A bench comprising of Balbir Lal Jaswal, Chief Judicial Magistrate Kishtwar and Advocate MH Waza conducted the National Lok Adalat. A total of 15 cases were taken up, out of which 11cases were disposed off.
RS PURA: National Lok Adalat was held at Munsiff JMIC Court Complex, here. Chairman, Tehsil Legal Services Committee, Rekha Kapoor Nischal and Additional Special Mobile Magistrate Slahuddin Ahmed presided over the bench. During the deliberation, 23 cases were listed before out of which 14 cases were disposed off. Complaints under Section 36 Police Act and traffic challans were also disposed off in the Lok Adalat. Fine amounting Rs 19,000 was also realized.
