960 kg Lahan, 90 Lt liquor seized; 4 held

RAJOURI, Oct 28: The sleuths of Excise and Taxation Department from Rajouri-Poonch Range, today conducted raids at different places in Rajouri, Kalakote and Nowshera area and arrested four persons along with seizure of 960 kg of Lahan and 90 liters of illicit liquor.
Official sources said that the Excise team led by Inspector Mohd Pervaiz, under the supervision of ETO Rajouri-Poonch Range, Sheraz Chauhan conducted raids at village Argi, Dalori, Potha, Khah No. 1 , Saleri, Lamberi, Siot, Dhanwan, Narian, Kali Dab and Chingus area of district Rajouri and arrested four persons under Excise Act.
Those arrested are identified as, Joginder Singh, son of Prem Singh and Bala Ram, son of Basant Ram, both residents of Dalhori; Ajmer Singh, son of Tunda Singh, resident of Lamberi (Siot) and Parshotam Singh, son of Jagdish Raj, resident of Narrian. They were booked under Excise Act.
During raids the Excise team also seized 90 liters of illicit liquor and destroyed 960 kg of Lahan on the spot after seizure. Then raids were conducted on the directions of Deputy Excise Commissioner, Executive Jammu, Shahid Saleem Dar.
