JAMMU, Aug 24:Amid escalated tension between India and Pakistan following cancellation of NSA-level talks, 97 civilians today exchanged side in a weekly Poonch-Rawlakote ‘Peace Bus’ on the Line of Control in Poonch district.
“As many as 97 civilians today boarded the ‘Peace Bus’ and exchanged the sides”, official sources here said.
They said two fresh Indian citizens went across along with 61 residents of Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir who boarded the bus and returned back to their places.
“From other side, 34 fresh PoK residents reached Chakkan-da-Bagh in the bus to meet their relatives during the stipulated time”, they said.
The gate remained open from 1514 hrs to 1535 hrs while senior police and administrative officials were present on the occasion.
