JAMMU, May 1: A 9th class girl student, who had been kidnapped from near her house at Kanachak, was rescued by police today from Katra town of Reasi district.
Ceetu Ram, a resident of Pakhian, Kanachak, who had kidnapped the girl, was arrested by Kanachak police team this morning from a lodge.
The girl was handed over to her family after medical examination.
A case of kidnapping has been registered against the accused at Kanachak police station, SDPO Domana Sandeep Mehta said, adding further investigations in the case were in progress.
