POONCH, Sept 16: A 14-year-old student died due to drowning in a river at Tourism Park, Noorichamb Chandimarh.
Sources said that deceased was the 9th class student of Government High School Banwat and had gone to picnic with the School to Tourism Park Chandimarh where he drowned while bathing in the river.
He was rescued by the accompanying teachers and students who shifted him to Sub District Hospital Surankote where doctors declared him as brought dead. The deceased was identified as Faisal Pervaiz (14) son of Pervaiz Ahmed resident of Banwat area in Poonch.
Station House Officer Surankote Inspector Rajesh Thapa said that after doing all legal formalities, the dead body of the boy was handed over to his family for last rites.
