Protest against ration distribution by biometric system held

JAMMU, July 18: Activists of National Awami United Party (NAUP) here today staged a protest demonstration against the Department of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs (DFCS&CA) for distributing ration at its fair price shops through biometric system.
The protest was led by NAUP Jammu Provincial Secretary, Karandeep Singh who said that DFCS&CA is playing with the lives of people by using biometric system for ration distribution as the world is presently in the grip of deadly COVID-19 pandemic.
He urged upon the Lieutenant Governor of J&K to take a strict note of this development so that the common people may be saved from falling prey to the deadly Coronavirus just for getting ration through this system.
Ankur Gupta, General Secretary NAUP; Rakesh Singh, District NAUP President Jammu; Yoginder Pal Verma, District Spokesperson and others were also present in the protest demonstration.
