31 bovine animals rescued as Police foils 4 smuggling bids

RAJOURI, July 19: Police today foiled four separate attempts of bovine smuggling in different areas and rescued 31 number of cattle besides arresting the accused smugglers.
Reports said that a team from Budhal Police Station, headed by SHO Som Raj, under the supervision of DySP DAR Zaheer Abbas, was on routine patrolling in the area when bovine smuggler Shokat Ali, son of Mohammad Hussain of Gabbar Budhal was intercepted while smuggling eight bovines.
Police rescued the animals and arrested the accused. A case FIR 56/2020 under Sections 188 IPC and 3 PCA Act has been registered in this connection at Budhal Police Station.
Similarly, a team headed by SHO Thanamandi, Fareed Ahmed, under the supervision of SDPO Thanamandi Sajjad Khan also arrested a smuggler Shah Jan, son of Hakam Shah, resident of Palangarh Thanamandi who was smuggling 15 animals from the area. Police said that a case FIR 141/2020 under Sections 188 IPC, PCA Act has been registered in Thanamandi Police Station.
Another team, headed by SHO Dharamsal Rajinder Sharma, under the supervision of SDPO Nowshera Zakir Shaheen Mirza, intercepted a smuggler Mohammad Rayaz, son of Mohammad Qasim of Dalyot Kalakote who was found smuggling five bovines in the area.
All the animals were rescued and smuggler was arrested from the spot and a case under relevant sections of law has been registered in Dharamsal police station.
Meanwhile, a team of Kalakote Police station headed by SHO Sanjay Raina also rescued three bovine animals from two smugglers moving from the area who have been arrested.
