BMS discusses harassment to community members

JAMMU, July 20: A meeting of executive body of Bhagat Maha Sabha (BMS) was held here under the chairmanship of Mahinder Bhagat, J&K president of Maha Sabha and various issues were discussed in the meeting.
Speakers in the meeting expressed concern over the sudden rise in atrocities against SC people in Jammu region and condemned harassment of Kamlesh Bhagat, lady Sarpanch at R.S Pura by some Government officials.
Case of Majalata Nagrota, brutal murder of Rahul Bhagat in Udhampur and murder of Mohan Lal in Reasi were also discussed and it was decided to submit a memorandum in this regard to the President of India, SC Commission and G.C Murmu, Lieutenant Governor of J&K for ensuring safety and dignity to the SC people in J&K.
The Maha Sabha also decided that student from Bhagat community who secured 80 per cent or above marks in 2019-20 session in class 10 and 12 will be honoured by Maha Sabha units of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pardesh, Delhi, Rajasthan and J&K.
Bodh Raj Bhagat, National Vice president of BMS; Naresh Bhagat, Publicity Secretary; Sansar Chand, Senior Vice President and others were also present in the meeting.
