JAMMU, July 20: The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has announced commencement of admissions for July 2020 session.
All admissions are being carried out in online mode only and interested candidates can apply on the admission portal https://ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in/ on IGNOU website www.ignou.ac.in. In order to fill up application forms, candidates are required to register and generate their login credentials-username and password and remember the same for future use. Application fee for the programmes can only be paid online using credit card, debit card or net banking.
IGNOU offers free education to SC, ST candidates for certain specific programmes which is open for those SC, ST candidates who are unemployed and not getting any other scholarship.
The University has, in the recent past, launched several programmes like MA in Journalism & Mass Communication, MA in Sanskrit, Awareness Programme on Goods and Services (GST), Post Graduate Certificate in Climate Change (PGCCC), Post Graduate Diploma in Development Studies (PGDDVS), Post Graduate Certificate in Medical Management of CBRNE Disasters (PGCMDM), Post Graduate Diploma in Environmental and Occupational Health (PGDEOH), Certificate Programme in Yoga (CPY), and Certificate in Persian Language (CPEL), Diploma in Mobile Application Development (DMAD), which have specially been designed keeping in view a range of dimensions like career-interest, employability, skill enhancement, etc.
“To avoid student gatherings at Study Centres, Regional Centre is organizing various online interactive Induction, Counselling and Grievance redressal sessions for the benefit of students through online platforms like Google Meet, Google Classrooms, Facebook live so that the students do not have to go out of their homes for availing support services in the present critical times of pandemic”, Dr Vikram Singh, Regional Director I/c of the Regional Centre Jammu informed.
“Online platforms for submission of assignments, synopsis proposals, dissertations, Internship reports, Practicum works, etc have also been developed so that the concerned students are able to perform the activities supposed to be carried out during their course of study in the present Covid-19 situation without any hindrance and wastage of precious time” informed Dr Sandeep Gupta and Dr Asha Upadhyay, Assistant Regional Directors of the Regional Centre.
The last date of admissions has been fixed for 31st July, 2020.
