Namgyal is Ladakh BJP chief

JAMMU, July 20: BJP national president, Jagat Prakash Nadda has appointed Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, MP (Ladakh) as State president of Ladakh BJP. A handout in this connection has been issued by BJP national general secretary, Arun Singh from party’s national Headquarter, New Delhi today.
Sitting Member of Parliament from lone Parliamentary constituency in Ladakh Union Territory, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal will take over the reigns as the Ladakh president with immediate effect as stated the official handout.
Namgyal a young fire brand leader from Ladakh was elected Lok Sabha member from Ladakh Parliamentary constituency in 2019 general elections.
The post of BJP president for Ladakh UT had fallen vacant early this year after its president and former Minister, Tsering Dhorjey had resigned from the Party alleging that the UT administration was sidelining the party leadership on vital and important issues concerning Ladakh.
However, during his recent visit to Ladakh, BJP national general secretary and incharge UTs of J&K and Ladakh, Ram Madhav was urged by the party leaders from the UT to reinstall Dhorjey as party president of Ladakh by bringing him again in the party fold. However, Madhav said that he could not take the decision in this regard on his own but take up the issue with senior leadership in New Delhi on his return.
When contacted Dhorjey said that he was pursued by the party but there are various reasons for his resignation which he will reveal later on. Talking to Excelsior on the party decision Dhorjey said “there are many reservations which I could not reveal this time’’. I had quit the party for various reasons’’, he added.
