SRINAGAR: Police on Tuesday claimed to have busted a Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) module by arresting three militant associates in central Kashmir district of Budgam.
A senior police official said that following specific information, police, 53 Rashtriya Rifles (RR), 181 battalion of CRPF established a joint checkpoint at Pakherpora in Budgam. “Security forces arrested three militant associates — identified as Mehrajdin Kumar, Tahir Kumar and Sahil Hurra ? at the checkpoint,” he said.
He said incriminating material, besides ammunition — including 20 live rounds AK 47, two detonators and 15 posters of HM ? were recovered from their possession. “This group was involved in providing logistic support and shelter to active militants of proscribed outfit HM. They have been active in the area for last few months,” he said.
“In this regard, case FIR no 83/2020 under relevant sections of UAPA has been registered in Police Station Charar-i-Sharief, and investigation taken up,” he added. (AGENCIES)
