JAMMU, Apr 16: Police today foiled two separate attempts of bovine smuggling and rescued ten animals in the region.
Five bovine animals were rescued when Kalakote Police intercepted a Tata Mobile vehicle bearing registration number 1880-JK11A at Sialsui. Police also arrested two persons, identified as Mohd Aslam of Palma Nagrota and Sartaj Ahmed of Behrote Thannamandi, who were smuggling the bovines.
Similarly, five more bovine animals were rescued by Udhampur Police at Jakhani though the smugglers managed to escape from the spot.
