JAMMU, July 22: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will celebrate 5th August in a grand way, the day on which discriminatory Articles 370 & 35(A) were abrogated.
This was stated by BJP general secretary, Dr. D. K. Manyal along with party senior vice president, Yudhvir Sethi and former MLC, Vikram Randhawa while addressing a press conference at party headquarters, here, today.
Dr. D. K. Manyal, said that BJP will be celebrating a Pakhwara from August 5 to August 20 in connection with one year of abrogation of Articles 370 and 35 (A).
Giving details regarding the celebration programmes, Dr. Manyal said that the celebration will be starting from August 5, 2020 with hoisting of Tricolour at every Mandal, booth, Panchayat and in all the wards of Municipal Corporations and Municipal Committees of Jammu and Kashmir. He requested all the residents of Jammu and Kashmir to celebrate the day with hoisting of Tricolour on their housetops. The programme will be followed with Samvaad (small groups) at district and Mandal levels. BJP will be organizing a virtual (digital) rally from the party headquarter, which will be addressed by a senior Union Minister. Similar virtual rallies will be organized at State and district levels, he added.
Dr. Manyal requested to all the citizens to illuminate their houses, Chowks and prominent buildings in their areas with “DeepMala” in the evening. A book has been published by the Bharatiya Janata Party comprised of the notes of the diary written by Sanji Raj Gupta Ji (towering leader of Praja Parishad Movement) when he was jailed by the then regime. The book also consists of brief notes of extraordinary contributions by other leaders of Praja Parishad Movement. The book will be presented to such families whose members have sacrificed their lives for the movement by J&K BJP President, Ravinder Raina.
The beneficiaries of abrogation of Articles 370 and 35(A) Valmiki Samaaj, Gorkha Samaaj, West Pakistan refugees and others will be celebrating the day marking the end of 70 year long discrimination with these communities, Dr. Manyal added.
He also requested all the citizens of Jammu & Kashmir to celebrate this day with great zeal and enthusiasm.
