DODA, July 23: District administration carried out an anti-encroachment drive here and demolished 5 illegal structures raised over the prime UT land.
Giving details of exercise, the Deputy Commissioner Doda, Dr Sagar D Doifode informed that 27 kanals of prime land adjoining the main road of Akramabad and Malwas worth crores was encroached upon and illegal structures were constructed on it, besides it has been informed that mostly these constructions had been done while taking the advantage of the prevailing situation.

Revenue Department after due verification submitted the report to Deputy Commissioner, Doda and carried out anti encroachment drive.
During the exercise, 2 JCB machines were pressed into the service and 5 structures concrete as well as semi concrete on the encroached land were demolished including 4 residential and one commercial complex.
With this anti encroachment drive, the district administration also hinted strict action against all the land grabbers across the district in the upcoming days, the DC added.
The DC also informed that a special task force comprising of KAS and Revenue level officers has been constituted in the district to identify all the encroached spots and the same kind of anti encroachment drive will be initiated in all those areas which are being identified by the task force.
The administration said anti-encroachment operations will be undertaken in all areas to retrieve all State and common lands encroached in the district adding that involvement in land encroachment will be dealt with firmly as per the law.
