Raj Nehru said that educational institutions should focus to become a centre of excellence and produce job-ready resources, rather creating earnable resources. He said that the biggest challenge today is to upgrade the kind of knowledge, skills and attitude among the young men and women that is required as a growth factor for economic development. He said that the industry expects educational institutions to produce talent to manage the challenges the business is facing today. He mentioned that quality of infrastructure, research and faculty of educational institutions is critical to produce world-class talent. He said that the fundamental duty of the institutions is to inculcate and enhance the capacity to learn, think, relate and act among the students to make them fit for the industry demands.
Mr Nehru said that educational institutions need to revisit their curriculum by consulting the industry to address the changing demands. He stressed on the need for up-skilling the faculty to develop the right kind of pedagogies to match the industry expectations and making learning more inclusive.
