REASI, July 23: With the arrest of accused and recovery of stolen items, District Police Reasi has solved the theft case that took place in the house of Anju Devi, wife of Ramesh Kumar of Sai Narloo on the intervening night of July 11-12.
After a complaint was lodged by Anju Devi on July 18, FIR number 62/20 was registered U/S 457/380 IPC at P/S Arnas following which Police apprehended one suspect namely Deepak Kumar Sharma son of Isher Dass of Dharmatha Kanthan Tehsil Arnas.
During interrogation, the suspect disclosed that he had committed the theft and kept all the stolen goods at Dharmatha in the forest near his house. Later Police took him to the spot disclosed by him and recovered the stolen items in presence of civil witnesses. The recovered items included 264 grams silver and 6 gram gold items worth Rs 38000/.
The whole operation was conducted by SHO P/S Arnas Insp Rajesh Gautam under the supervision of SDPO Arnas Dr Satish Bhardwaj and Addl SP Surjeet Bhagat.
