JAMMU, Apr 16: Three women were killed when lightning struck them in Ramban and Doda districts today.
Police spokesman said that lightning struck Ward Number 2 of Dhandrath Panchayat under the jurisdiction of Ramban Police Station this afternoon.
Two women—Ashru Devi, wife of Sunder and Nisha Devi, wife of Kuldeep Singh, who were standing outside their house, sustained severe injuries due to lightning and were immediately rushed to nearby health centre where they were pronounced as brought dead.
In another incident, lightning struck Dandal village in Doda district this evening as a result of which a woman namely Beega Begum and five cattle heads got killed.
