Two missing youth surrender

JAMMU, Apr 16: Two youth from Keshwan area of Kishtwar district, who had deserted their houses to join militancy, today surrendered before police following pressure maintained on them by security forces and police for the past over one week.
DIG Doda-Ramban range Ashkoor Wani told the Excelsior that pressure from security agencies and police on the youth and their families worked and finally both of them surrendered before police in Keshwan forests this morning.
They have been identified as Ashiq Hussain, 25, son of Nassullaha Hajam R/o Nagnigarh and Akhter Hussain, 21, son of Ali Mohammad Hajam R/o Pathna, Keshwan.
Troops of 8 and 11 Rashtriya Rifles and police had launched massive search operations to trace the youth ever since the report of their missing and joining ranks of militants surfaced last week.
Police said both the accused were being questioned to ascertain the militant group, which had tried to lure them into the militancy.
However, police added, both the youth would be handed over to their families after completion of their questioning.
