REASI, July 24: Demanding permission to ply their vehicles on Reasi-Arnas road, local drivers and others associated with the minibus service of this route, today held a strong protest and blocked the road.
Shouting slogans in support of their demand and against the Transport authorities, the protesting drivers put burning tyres on the road and blocked the route at Salal. Due to closure of the road, there was a long jam on both ends because of which commuters had to face a tough time.
The protesting drivers said that they were not being allowed to operate their vehicles on the road whereas the minibuses of the outside routes were plying on this route.
Later on, ARTO Reasi reached the spot and assured the protesters that their problem would be solved after which the road blockage was lifted.
