Jagti inmates demand sanitization of township

JAMMU, July 26: The Jagti inmates have demanded launching of a sanitation drive in the township immediately in view of the surfacing of COVID positive case in the area on July 23 and earlier too.
In a meeting today in the township held under the chairmanship of Sunil Pandita said that there is lot of panic among the people after the surfacing of COVID cases number of times. He criticized the administration for allowing the home quarantine to COVID positive cases coming from outside when there is no proper space in the quarters for home quarantine also and people with COVID positive cases even move outside posing threat to others in the camp.
Pandita urged the district as well as Relief Organisation to take positive steps in launching the sanitization drive in township besides taking other precautionary measures also.
He said the precautionary measures viz; Santisation of at least the said block/building and it’s surrounding as well as the testing the inmates/contacts of that building or the case contacts who had a travel history from traveling outside. He alleged in recent case and other earlier cases this was not done posing the inmates to grave risk. He made an appeal to District Development Commissioner Jammu and Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner Migrants to take personnel interest in the matter keeping in view the safety and security of 10,000 inmates of township.
