JAMMU, July 26: J&K Handicapped Association has demanded implementation of Rights of Persons with Disabilities (RPWD) Act in the Union Territory.
In a handout, Association president, Abdul Rashid Bhat alleged that Social Welfare Department is playing with the feelings of persons with disabilities by delaying the implementation of the Act.
He further said that almost four years have passed when RPWD Act 2016 was passed but still it is not implemented on the ground even though almost 1 year is over since reorganization of J&K took place.
Bhat urged upon the Government of J&K and also Central Government to implement the Act without any delay as persons with disabilities are waiting from a longtime for the implementation of RPWD Act.
