Won’t contest election in UT: Omar

JAMMU, July 26: Former Chief Minister and National Conference vice-president, Omar Abdullah has said that he would not contest Assembly elections till Jammu and Kashmir remains a Union Territory.
He said this in an article, due to be published in tomorrow’s edition of a national English daily.
In a tweet, the paper has quoted Omar Abdullah saying: “While J&K remains a Union Territory, I will not contest Assembly elections.”
While re-tweeting this tweet, Omar has commented: “To the extent that it’s possible to put my thoughts about what happened on the 5th of August last year in to one piece, this is my first attempt. Actually this line is the only one but that’s about met the rest is all my thoughts regarding what was done to J&K.”
