POONCH, July 27: The Forest Department staff today dismantled three structures and retrieved about 20 kanals of Forest land in Gurasi area of Mendhar Forest Range of Poonch district.
Official sources said that Mendhar Forest Range officer, Mohd Arif Mirza along with staff received reports that three families taking benefit of lock down raised three structures in Forest area (Compt No. 162/M) at village Gurasi, under Gurasi beat of Mendhar Forest Range. They informed about the matter to DFO Poonch.
Then RO Mendhar Mohd Arif Mirza under the supervision of DFO Poonch launched operation during the day and dismantled all the three structures and also retrieved nearly 20 kanals of forest land. The accused land grabbers have been booked under Forest Act. They had also caused damage to some trees in the area.
