Srinagar, July 28: The locals today resorted to vandalism and broke windowpanes of Maternity and Childcare Hospital, Anantnag after a pregnant woman died due to alleged medical negligence.
The family of the lady who died said that a doctor posted in the hospital did not treat her on time and said that the patient was “faking pain and that there is nothing to worry about.”
However, the lady named Rozy Jan, a resident of Gadhanzpora in Bijbehara area of Anantnag, died this morning, resulting in protest from the family members.
The lady was admitted to the hospital after she had labour pain a couple of days ago. After that, the lady delivered a baby.
However, after complaining of pain, the doctor on duty, as per the family, refused to treat her as she had suddenly started having pain.
The family said that the deceased could have been saved, but “it was only due to medical negligence that more people are dying in the hospital,” they said.
