REASI, July 28: Aggrieved over erratic power supply in the area, locals of Chinkah and adjoining areas held a strong protest demonstration against Power Development Department.
A large number of locals, including BDC Chairpersons, Sarpanches and Panches of Thakrakote block assembled and raised slogans against PDD authorities demanding uninterrupted power supply.
The protesters also blocked the road at Chinkah resulting into long traffic jam on both ends of the road. Protesting villagers alleged that PDD was not listening to their genuine request of proper power supply while the scorching heat had made their life difficult.
The protestors were also demanding opening of Narlu and Panassa road for vehicular traffic. They raised slogans in support of this demand of plying of mini buses on this road.
Later on, Naib Tehsildar Thakrakote reached the spot and pacified the protesters after which they dispersed off.
