Avtar Krishan Rehbar passes away

JAMMU, July 31: Avtar Krishan Rehbar former Deputy Director, Radio Kashmir Srinagar and a famous, dramatist, writer of short stories, dramas and a well known historian breathed his last at Noida, UP yesterday evening. He was 87.
His cremation was performed today at Noida. Born in Fatekadal Srinagar in 1933, Rehbar after completing his PG Degree joined Radio Kashmir Srinagar and became a house hold name later. He made a lot of contribution to Kashmiri culture and art by writing various books, short stories and dramas. His famous wrings included Mukht Lar, history of Kashmiri Literature and famous Drama Badshah which was staged many times.
Various cultural organizations including Cultural Council Kashmir, Fankar Adbi Sangam, Athwas, Athrot etc have expressed profound shock and grief over his demise and termed it a great loss to the field of literature.
