KATHUA, Aug 1: The worst condition of Dabowal road in Panchayat Merath in Kathua district irks the villagers as they are forced to walk on muddy route to reach the other parts of the district. The rainy season becomes worrisome for thick population of village Dabowal connecting to Panchayat Merath of Block Barnoti. The heavy rainfall created havoc as the Kachha road turns slushy and it becomes difficult for people to walk on it.
The women, children and old age persons face lot of inconvenient and challenges to walk through just two km of this link road. The Budhi -Merath road is also in worst condition to walk on it. The driving of bikes or other vehicles could not be possible on this road which is totally in dilapidated condition. The Panch of village Raj Kumar alleged that the Panchayat is familiar about the worse condition of road but there is no plan under which it could be black topped.
Even the district administration has also been made aware of it, but nothing was done by the authorities to construct the road.
The Government has made tall promises of constructing the pacca road. But the ground situation is opposite to promises made so far by the authorities. The villagers asked the administration to take a look of this road and take necessary steps to construct the road at earliest.
