JAMMU, Aug 3: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee has taken strong exception to the unilateral decision of the UT administration to rescind the orders of Cong – NC Coalition Govt of 2014 regarding creation of 63 CD blocks in Jammu and Kashmir and demanded review of the decision in the larger interests of people.
Reacting to the decision, JKPCC vice president and former minister Raman Bhalla and chief spokesperson Ravinder Sharma criticized the same as against interests of people, as most of these new CD blocks were sanctioned, after several deserving areas were left out in the first phase of creation of new administrative units.
Large numbers of people from various deserving areas represented after the declaration of the first phase of the CD blocks and other administrative units. These areas were considered most deserving and hence sanctioned the units.
They said that the people of remote areas were punished for the fault and failures of the PDP-BJP Government to make these units functional. This is no justification of cancellation of the units and punishment to the people for the reason that Govt failed to make them functional.
The PDP-BJP Government remained busy in their own squabbles and inherent contradictions and this led to the worst ever misgovernance as a result the people are being punished as the Government failed to make them functional.
They lashed out the Government for the wholesale cancelation of these units without any fresh exercise about the necessity of the sanctioned units. It is totally arbitrary and unilateral decision of the Government without caring for the interest and topography etc of the areas. The new units were more deserving than some established units as left out areas were considered on their merit.
The senior party leaders urged the Government to review the decision and make these units functional for better delivery of services and taking administration to the door steps of people.
