SAMBA, Aug 6: The people of Rakh Amb Tali village of district Samba protested against the PHE Department for the acute drinking water scarcity.
The local people of the village surrounded the tube well in the Rakh Amb Tali and placed locks on it, demanding that they would not open the locks until drinking water was supplied in their village. The local Sarpanch, Vinod Kumar was leading the protest. The water is supplied to the entire Samba from this tube well and it made the position of the department very awkward. Sensing the trouble, AEE PHE Samba, Shiv Abrol rushed to the spot with his team and assured the people that the water supply will be resumed soon.
The local people alleged that they have already informed the department of their problem but no action was taken by the department. They alleged that the water is also sold in vehicles from the water supply station and they have full evidence of the same.
