REASI, Aug 8: Katra Police today foiled an attempt of bovine smuggling and rescued eight numbers of cattle, which were being smuggled in Tata Mobile vehicle.
The vehicle, bearing registration number JK14D-5137 was intercepted near village Pamote and Police also arrested the accused smugglers, identified as Mushtaq Ali son of Ghulam Mohd of village Pamote, Tehsil Katra and Umran Bhatt son of Sher Mohd Bhatt of Sambal Danga Udhampur.
In this regard, a case FIR number 127/2020, under section 188 IPC, 3 PC Act has been registered at P/S Katra and further investigation is going on.
The smuggling bid was foiled by a Police team, led by Inspr Varinder Singh, I/C PP Banganga, assisted by Inspr Ali Imran I/C PP Kakryal, under the supervision of SDPO Katra Kuljeet Singh.
